Choose the right hose for your beer

Choose the right hose for your beer

Choosing the right hose to brew your beer is like choosing the best glassware to use in order to enjoy all of the hidden nuances. It's those unique, subtle qualities that truly reflect what your beer is about.

So what exactly is a brewery hose required to do? Well hopefully it will provide the fluid transfer link during the brew and ensure that your product is safe from contaminants during the process. However, there is much more to be found. Although in some quarters there is a belief that 'a hose is just a hose" in reality this statement couldn't be further from the truth. As hose specialists, we feel that brewers, breweries and beer drinkers alike deserve better than 'just a hose'. So here's the real deal…

Brewflex hoses challenge the status quo... But how do they do this?

The FDA approved smooth, non-tainting, mirror finish butyl liner does not leach, therefore unlike some other hoses neither toxicants, taste nor odour contaminate the beer conveyed through it. Also the rubber compounds and other materials used to construct Brewflex are all hygienic, fully traceable, and considerably more durable than many other PVC and rubber hoses. On average, a hose like Brewflex will last between 5-7 years. 316L stainless steel hygienic fittings are also swaged onto Brewflex providing a fully hygienic, bug free, seamless join between hose and fitting doing away with 'snaggy' worm-drive clips.

Comparatively, PVC hose is only really good to use up to +60°C, discolouring/browning and a reduction in flexibility will occur when PVC is used in excess of this over a prolonged period. It is also commonplace that many rubber hoses are not manufactured to the high standards they are advertised at which can at times result in a 'hygienic' hose not actually being hygienic at all.

So which hose do you use? What it boils down to is hygiene, durability and value. A hose that promotes these will enhance the beer that runs through it because it is completely impartial enabling you to brew your beer exactly as you intended. Brewflex is a hose that can give you peace of mind.
